Attendee Information

Is hotel included in the conference registration fee?

No, the conference registration fee does not include hotel room fees and transportation costs. Refer to the hotel and travel page for details on reserving your hotel and making travel arrangements. The 4-Day or full conference registration includes admittance to general sessions, breakout sessions, workshops, the poster presentation session, the annual business meeting, and the exhibit hall. It also includes an exhibit hall refreshments on June 30th and coffee break on July 1st.

What do I do when I arrive at the conference?

When you arrive, go to the NASN registration desk on the 3rd floor to pick up conference materials including the conference program, your name badge, any event tickets you purchased, and a spiral bound syllabus if you purchased one.

NOTE: Name badges must be worn for admittance to all events.  Your name badge is proof of registration.  Without it, you may not be allowed to participate in conference activities.

Do I need to tell NASN which sessions I am attending?

Seating in general and breakout sessions is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you do not have to let NASN know which of these sessions you plan to attend.  This practice allows all attendees an equal opportunity to attend the session(s) of their choice.  Please note that seating is limited to the capacity of the meeting room and capacity varies for each session.  Please arrive early to assure a seat.  Room capacity for each session will be listed in the conference program.

Seating at preconference events is reserved through the purchase of tickets for preconference events.

Mentor a New NASN Member at Conference

Attendees who are willing to mentor a new member at conference will be listed on the conference website as mentor volunteers. New members who register will be referred to the list of mentor volunteers and will be able to send a message to a mentor volunteer.  Mentor email addresses will be secure and not visible.

Mentoring begins before you attend the conference; share your tips for preparation and getting the most out of the event by connecting in advance.  During the conference, offer to meet for coffee and introduce the new member to your colleagues.  Mentors and new members will determine how they will connect and what the connection entails.  Have fun!

How do I access session handouts?

Abstracts for each session and handouts provided by speakers are available to participants in TWO formats.

1. Attendees can purchase a plastic coil-bound syllabus with their registration and collect it onsite.  The cost is $40 if included with your full four-day registration; $50 if purchased separately.

2. Attendees can access materials using a computer, tablet or smart phone on the conference website beginning in mid-June.  [Printers are NOT available on-site.]

NOTE: The syllabus includes abstracts and handouts for each session provided by speakers. NASN makes every effort to collect speaker handouts and will share all that are received. Abstracts and handouts received are available on the conference
website at no cost.

How do I obtain my certificate of completion?

Attendees will complete conference session evaluations and an overall conference evaluation online. Upon attendance and completion of the evaluation process, attendees will be awarded a Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) certificate of completion. Instructions can be found in the conference program.

Are there any meals provided?

In general, meals are provided on your own.  At this time, NASN has scheduled refreshments on June 30th in the Exhibit Hall and a coffee break to start your day on July 1st in the Exhibit Hall.  Select events and sessions/meetings may also have food provided.  As details become known, they will be shared with attendees.
