Attendee Information

Is hotel included in the conference registration fee?

The conference registration fee does not include hotel room fees and transportation costs. Refer to the hotel and travel page for details on reserving lodging and making travel arrangements. The full four-day conference registration includes admittance to general sessions, breakout sessions, workshops, the poster presentation session, the annual business meeting, and the Exhibit Hall. It also includes Exhibit Hall refreshments on June 30th and a coffee break on July 1st.

What do I do when I arrive at the conference?

Go to the NASN registration desk, North Tower 1st Floor, to pick up conference materials including the conference program, name badge, any event tickets purchased, and a plastic, coil-bound syllabus if purchased.

NOTE: Name badges must be worn for admittance to all events.  A name badge is proof of registration.  Without it, individuals may not be allowed to participate in conference activities.

Do I need to tell NASN which sessions I am attending?

Seating in general and breakout sessions is available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Attendees do not have to select sessions in advance or inform NASN of the selections.  This practice allows all attendees an equal opportunity to attend preferred sessions.  Please note that seating is limited to the capacity of the meeting room and capacity varies for each session.  Please arrive early to assure a seat.  Room capacity for each session will be listed in the conference program.

Seating at preconference events is reserved through the purchase of tickets for preconference events.

Mentor a new NASN member at conference:

Attendees who are willing to mentor a new member at conference will be listed on the conference website as mentor volunteers. New members who register will be referred to the list of mentor volunteers and will be able to send a message to a mentor volunteer.  Mentor email addresses will be secure and not visible.

Mentoring begins before the conference with mentors sharing tips for preparation and getting the most out of the event.  During the conference, mentors can offer to meet for coffee and introduce the new member to colleagues.  Mentors and new members will determine how best to connect and what the connection entails.

How do I access session handouts?

Abstracts for each session and handouts provided by speakers are available to participants in TWO formats.

1. Attendees can purchase a plastic, coil-bound syllabus with their registration and collect it onsite.  The cost is $40 if included with your full four-day registration, $50 if purchased separately.

2. Attendees can access materials using a computer, tablet or smart phone on the conference website beginning in mid-June.  [Printers are NOT available on-site.]

NOTE: The syllabus includes abstracts and handouts for each session provided by speakers. NASN makes every effort to collect speaker handouts and will share all that are received.  Abstracts and handouts received are available on the conference website at no cost.

How do I obtain my certificate of completion?

Attendees will complete conference session evaluations and an overall conference evaluation online. Upon attendance and completion of the evaluation process, attendees will be awarded a continuing nursing education (CNE) certificate of completion. Instructions can be found in the conference program.

Are there any meals provided?

In general, meals are provided on the attendee's own.  At this time, NASN has scheduled refreshments on June 30th in the Exhibit Hall and a coffee break to start the day on July 1st in the Exhibit Hall.  Select events and sessions/meetings may also have food provided.  As details become known, they will be shared with attendees.
