From Seat to Feet- The breakout session that you won’t want to miss!

Have you heard about Action Based Learning and are curious to know more?  In your opinion, is our nation’s obesity epidemic an important school nursing topic?  Have you often wondered if you make a difference as a school nurse?  Are you looking for an empowering story of a school nurse stepping out from the shadows and into the spotlight, influencing education on a completely new level?  Then I have the breakout session for you!

Essentially, Action Based Learning (ABL) is incorporating movement in the traditional classroom or in ABL labs designed to have students moving and learning simultaneously! “Action Based Learning™ is based on the brain research that strongly supports the link between movement and learning” (https://www.youthfit.com/abl).  In this session, I will tell you more about how I became involved with ABL, more detailed explanations of what it is, and how it has affected our school.  I will also bring a special message about the power of social media and its involvement in our journey!

This session promises to be engaging, exciting, and motivational!  Be sure to stop by and see me for a guaranteed “moving” experience that will not disappoint!  Just can’t wait?  Check out this Ted Talk by Mike Kuczala or read my article in Medium (https://medium.com/@bbowlen1/what-is-action-based-learning-b24f6434549e).
