The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) calls on the Senate to uphold Medicaid as a safety net for children and to protect the one percent of Medicaid that goes to schools to ensure that children can be healthy, safe and ready to learn as they now take up the American Health Care Act (AHCA).
Increasingly, schools are a partner in health promotion and interventions of students’ physical and mental health so that they can be successful in school.
"Our most vulnerable students, those who need additional supports to succeed in school, will be affected by these cuts to Medicaid. We must do better," Beth Mattey, NASN’s President.
