NASN STRONG! What Tops the List?

What is the #1 reason you are an NASN member? Do you have a favorite member benefit? Over the 25 years that I have been a member of NASN, I have watched NASN grow as our practice has grown. Below, you’ll find a list of the member benefits that top my list.

Personal connections with other school nurses have always been a highlight of membership for me too. I’d love to hear from you and why you joined the NASN family. Please login and leave a comment.

What tops my list?

Journals Online subscription gives me easy access to a digital library of current and previous issues of The Journal of School Nursing (JOSN) and NASN School Nurse, which is in addition to the print copies I receive by mail.  The JOSN podcasts and NASN School Nurse podcasts share highlights of upcoming issues.

The All Member Forum in SchoolNurseNet allows me to ask questions and share experiences with other school nurses in a private and professional space.

The NASN Learning Center has a growing number of courses and they are either free or have a reduced rate for members.

The Sight for Students gift certificate program allows qualified students the ability to have a free eye exam and, if prescribed, new glasses.

Additional NASN resources:

Staying connected with the latest news from NASN is important. These NASN communications provide up-to-date news and announcements:

NASN Weekly Digest e-newsletter;

NASN Radio audio broadcasts;

Facebook; Twitter; YouTube; and LinkedIn.

The Association Portal helps you manage your membership giving you access to:

Website login reminder;

Digital copy of your membership card;

Dues renewal form; and more.

There is strength in numbers! The care we give to students every day supports the health and learning of children for generations to come. School nurses have power and together we are NASN STRONG.

I am getting started again after being a student member.  I am grateful for this page.

Beth, I have to say that the personal and professional school nurse connections I have made with other school nurses has been the biggest benefit to my school nurse practice. The ability to have discourse, either in person or via School Nurse Net expands my view of school nursing, introduces me to new ways of considering student health, and propels me in the direction of continuous improvement. NASN School Nurse provides practical information that assists me in addressing the needs of the students I serve. Membership is more than a professional duty, it is a gift to be cherished and shared.
