Medicaid in education is a hot topic, and a top legislative priority for NASN and school nurses across the country. School Medicaid may be the answer to support enhanced health services in schools to improve the health of students.

Medicaid in Education: Innovative Ways to Leverage Resources for School Health Services is a breakout session scheduled for Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at NASN2017 in San Diego, California.

Through attending this session attendees will be able to:

  1. Better understand how the complicated School Medicaid Program functions.
  2. Know how to identify opportunities for reimbursement and additional funding for programs, including discussion on the Free Care issue for school programs.
  3. Be able to identify barriers and challenges and find ways to innovatively overcome them to make the process successful for students and the care rendered.

The expert panelists at this session will discuss different perspectives on the topic and then open the floor for interactive discussion and dialogue in regards to this topic.
