First-Time Attendees Are Not Alone At NASN2015

Who do you turn to when you have questions on the job? To be successful in your role, you need trusted colleagues you can consult with and sources for reliable information.

If you attend the NASN annual conference, you’ll meet other school nurses, thought leaders, and vendors sharing tools and resources for your practice. You’ll make connections with people who understand your experience and get access to session handouts and other conference materials.

Approximately one quarter of attendees at an NASN annual conference are first-time attendees. If you have never attended an NASN conference, you will not be alone and you WILL feel at home.

The conference schedule has the right balance between structured educational sessions and casual gatherings. This gives attendees plenty of time to absorb new information and then engage in peer-to-peer conversations. The First Timer Orientation on June 23, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. is one of those casual gatherings where NASN volunteers and staff meet with attendees to share conference tips and answer questions. This is a great chance to make initial connections before the first regular day of conference.  Attendees do not need to sign-up to attend the First Timer Orientation; it's open to all.

The conference discussion list is another way for attendees to make connections. It can be used before, during and after the conference and is the perfect way to ask questions or to share thoughts such as the topics you hope to discuss at NASN2015.

As you consider attending NASN2015, here are recordings from programming at previous NASN conferences. Hope to see you in Philadelphia!

The Challenges and Lessons Learned from Implementing the Activate for Kids Program: A School-based Obesity Initiative, presented at NASN2012 as the closing general session.

Anaphylaxis Management in the School Setting: Best Practices for Treatment and Prevention, presented at NASN2012 as a general session.

Delegation to Unlicensed School Personnel, What Are the Issues? presented at NASN2014 as a workshop.

The Art of Prezentation, presented at NASN2014 as a general session.
