The Changing Role of the School Nurse in the 21st Century

Please join the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville for a regional conference in conjunction with the Tennessee Association of School Nurses’ (TASN) conference.  NASN will present content on day 1 of this event and TASN will present content on day 2.  Register for either or both days.

Objectives

As a result of attending, participants will be able to:

Compare the principles of Leadership and Care Coordination as outlined in the Framework to current school nursing practice.

A completed evaluation and full day attendance are required for 6.0 CNE contact hours to be awarded. 

National Association of School Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Objectives

As a result of attending, participants will be able to:
Expand and update knowledge of current school health topics.
Develop current approaches to several specific school health issues within their scope of practice.
Expand school nurse support network.
Develop increased awareness of educational tools, resources and organizations available to assist school nurses in their practice.
Recognize the necessity for school nurses to be aware of and involved in professional and policy issues in the educational setting.

A completed evaluation and full day attendance are required for 5.0 CEUs to be awarded. 

Continuing education units (CEUs) for this seminar are documented by the Professional Development Department of the University College at Middle Tennessee State University which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and issued by the Tennessee Association for School Nurses.
