National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) is a nationwide call to action to encourage everyone 6 months and older to get their annual flu vaccine. School nurses are key in spreading the word about the flu vaccine, and NASN's no-cost NCPD program , Focus on Fall: Respiratory Illness Vaccines to Support Student and Staff Wellness , offers strategies you may use to encourage vaccine uptake in your school community. This National Diabetes Awareness Month, we’re proud to join other leading organizations in proclaiming that a type 1 diabetes (T1D) diagnosis shouldn’t be a crisis and urging families and health care providers to get ahead of a T1D diagnosis. Early screening and detection of T1D can help predict risk before symptoms arise and help families better prepare for and manage a potential diagnosis. Read the full consensus resolution .
