My Nursing career spans more than 3 decades. In 2001, I joined the Camden City School District where I continue to work as a School Nurse. In 2012, I joined the Faculty at Rutgers-Camden School of Nursing, teaching in the School Nurse Certificate Program, and serving as the Practicum Supervisor. Our School Nurse Certificate faculty is a grantee of the New Jersey Nursing Initiative (NJNI) to infuse population health and leadership into our curriculum.
I serve on several statewide committees including the NJ Department of Education’s Statewide Preschool Nurses Focus group. We are tasked with coordinating an annual conference for NJ preschool nurses. My extra-curricular work includes the position of Education Co-chair for the New Jersey State School Nurses Association (NJSSNA).
I am very proud to be a 2015 Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Program (JJSHLP) Fellow and Program Liaison for the mentoring initiative. I am also a Community Coach for four JJSHLP teams from the 2016 cohort. I was selected as the Camden County School Nurse Association 2017 School Nurse Who Makes a Difference. In addition, I was chosen as the 2017 Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership School Nurse of the Year and the 2017 NJDOH Population Hero Award recipient. In the summer of 2017, I completed training to be an Instructor in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
