Welcome to the world of school nursing and to the Florida Association of School Nurses (FASN), your professional school nurse organization. School nursing is more than putting on bandaids or giving a pill now and then. As school nurses, we quickly realize that we are part of a profession that utilizes all we have learned in our nursing education and in our career. We all realize that when students are safe and have appropriate management of their health care needs, they learn better. FASN is committed to serving school nurses statewide. All of your state officers look forward to serving you. On behalf of FASN, welcome!

The School Nurse Open Forum is open to all audiences. Members of this forum include school nurses, industry representatives, and anyone interested in discussing school nursing and school health topics. This forum began as a discussion list called SCHLRN-L. SCHLRN-L was started in 1994 and is the third oldest nursing discussion list on the Internet. SCHLRN-L migrated to SchoolNurseNet in September 2013 and was renamed in May 2017.This group was originally organized by Martha Dewey Bergren for school nurses, school nurse practitioners, school nurse teachers, and school nurse managers. The group's purpose is to: promote networking among school nurse professionals; assist in the dissemination of research and technological advancements that would enhance the delivery of care to the student population; provide a forum for the discussion of legislation, policy, and regulatory issues which affect school nurse practice; support school nurses working in isolated educational settings with resources and information; and disseminate information about continuing education opportunities, grants, advanced practice, and professional organizations. If you have any question about the School Nurse Open Forum, write to the list monitor Sheila Caldwell.
The SETT Online Forum is for individuals who have attended either the live or online School Emergency Triage Training (SETT) program. The goal of the forum is to provide school nurses with a place to share knowledge, skills, and resources related to their role as leaders of first-aid teams and for NASN to provide program updates.
